The Osprey Hotel in Naas has opened a new coworking space called the Osprey Hub.
The hub was designed by celebrity architect Hugh Wallace and architect Damian Meehan of Douglas Wallace Consultants.
The hub has 22 booth and desk spaces, and each desk has three power point sockets, two USBs and a desk lamp. Air filtrations systems have also been built into each shared space.
Boardrooms can be hired for meetings and these rooms are equipped with a 55-inch Sony Display and Polycom Premium USB Video for hybrid conferencing.
Osprey Hub also has free parking and fibre broadband and is open from 8am to 8pm.
Hugh Wallace commented: “We pushed the workspaces right out to the external walls which allowed us to wrap all of the shared spaces in floor to ceiling glass. This means that each of the boardrooms and the two large coworking spaces are flooded with natural light and have the added benefit of natural ventilation.
Jim Murphy, CEO of PREM Group, which owns the Osprey Hotel, stated: “The work that has gone into this new facility is absolutely top class, and I am confident that it is a great addition to The Osprey and to the town of Naas.
The Osprey Hub has been partially financed with government funding through the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Local TD James Lawless commented: “It’s vital that big towns like Naas have connected hubs where people can work effectively and not have to suffer the commute into the city centre day in and day out.
“Naas is a vibrant town with a great community but over the years many of its residents have been forced to leave for work very early each morning and only returning in the late evening. It is essential that regional towns like Naas do not lose the heart of their communities and become dormitory towns where people return just to sleep.
Connected hubs such as The Osprey Hub offer people a work life balance and ensure that our SMEs which are the backbone of our economy are supported.
Prices start from €25 plus VAT to hire a desk for the day. A dedicated desk costs €400 per month, and dedicated booth is priced at €500 per month plus VAT.
