DAA selects Sisk and Lagan for Dublin Airport upgrade programme

Dublin Airport Authority has selected a Sisk/Lagan joint venture to undertake its Dublin Airport airside and landside upgrade programme with a value of c. €325m.

DAA said John Sisk & Son is the leading building and civil engineering contractor in Ireland while Lagan is a specialist in aviation and airport infrastructure development. 

The Airside and Landside Lot 1 framework consists of civil engineering and infrastructure projects to upgrade the pavement, drainage and electrical systems at Dublin Airport’s boarding gate piers, aircraft stands, terminals, aprons, taxiways and the general airfield campus.

Ultan McCloskey, Director of Infrastructure at DAA said the airport has an ongoing requirement to invest in infrastructure.

DAA cautioned that works will take place in areas across the airfield, boarding gate piers, terminals and the general airport campus. "Working together with key stakeholders, the works will be delivered in a manner that causes minimal impact on the existing airport operation, airline customers and passengers," the company promised.

Dublin Airport’s new North Runway and the upgrade to the airport’s hold baggage screening systems are nearing completion. With regard to the new works, DAA said it will planning permission in the near future.
