Digital transformation specialist Version 1 has won a significant contract with Irish Rail to supply the national railway network with HR software Oracle Cloud HSM.
Version 1 said the technology will streamline payroll and workforce management and will assist Irish Rail roll out its learning and development programme, which takes in over 100 external suppliers, trainers and assessors.
Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management is designed to connect every human resource process from hire to retire. It’s also designed to provide employees with a consistent experience across devices.
John Kennedy, Head of HR Organisational Development at Iarnród Éireann, said: “We have developed a ‘People Strategy’ that supports the organisation along with the achievement of our ambitious future development plans.
"As part of this journey, we need to build a collaborative ethos and to be flexible in our approach towards full delivery of all our important commitments.
“An open and safe use of technology is essential to improve our internal services whilst being consistent with best practice in railway operations.”
The EU Commission disclosed recently that Version 1 Software Ltd was in receipt of €930,000 in taxpayer funding from Enterprise Ireland. The state aid was effected in August 2021.
