Golden Discs will open its new concept store, POP!, at its flagship outlet at Dundrum Town Centre on Saturday (23 April) to mark International Record Store Day.

The music retailer said POP! had been designed to accommodate "super fans" and lovers of pop culture and would stock a large range of posters, books, bags, stationary, Funko dolls and licensed merchandise from popular brands such as Marvel, DC, Lucasfilm, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter.

It will also feature licensed apparel, t-shirts, hoodies and baseball caps and carry products such as specialist collectables and figurines related to film, television, gaming and sub-genres such as Manga and Pokémon.

"We’re really excited about the first POP! store opening in Dundrum Town Centre," said Stephen Fitzgerald, CEO of Golden Discs. "It’s over 2,000 sq ft of merch and pop culture products from all the best bands and characters from the worlds of film and TV.

"We’ve seen huge increase in demand for merch over the past few years and the time has come for a dedicated store to serve this growing market. For many, pop culture product is an impulse gift purchase but we are also meeting the demands of the super fans and devotees who are looking for the coolest fresh merch and must-have collectables."
