Sean Mulyran, CEO of property developer Ballymore Group, has acquired a significant minority stake in cloud venture builder Zoosh Group and will join its board as a non-executive director, alongside its four founders, Balazs Bakos, Bert Farrell, David Brophy and Mervyn Graham.

Zoosh invests in and works with cloud ventures from the idea stage to commercialisation, product build, entrepreneurial development and growth strategy, and it has recently created its own studio model and started initiating ventures internally.

The group invests its own funds as well as contributions from an expanding network of investors, which now includes Mulryan, who said he has "always admired the drive of entrepreneurs to be successful".

"With a proven track record in bringing high potential digital startups to market, Zoosh is the perfect partner to help entrepreneurs create, launch and scale their cloud-based products and businesses.

"I fully support Zoosh’s vision, and I am excited to contribute as Zoosh help turn smart ideas into profitable, successful businesses”.

"As the founder of one of Ireland’s best-known businesses, Sean brings considerable business acumen and long experience which will be invaluable as we continue our growth journey. On a personal note, it is a pleasure to be able to work with Sean Mulryan again."

Ventures Zoosh was co-founded in partnership with what it terms high potential founders including OptaHaul (Westmeath), IDASO (Westmeath), Kyzentree Technologies (Galway), ClubSpot (Cavan), and Frequency Communications (Dublin).

Zoosh has been included in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 of the fastest growing technology companies based on revenue growth, and it is the first Irish venture builder to be accepted into the prestigious GSSN network of start-up studios.

The group, which has offices in Ireland, the UK and Hungary, has built and co-created over 50 cloud propositions since its inception and has generated more than 100 full-time jobs within the tech industry to date.

It aims to grow its in-house team, which is made up of close to 100 industry experts across Europe, to increase its number of investments in digital ventures and bring more cloud products to market.
