Cork-based beauty treatment chain Sisu Clinic has opened its first US location in Miami, with further openings planned for the US, UK and Ireland this year.
The company was founded by tech entrepreneur and CEO Pat Phelan and brothers Dr James Cotter and Dr Brian Cotter in 2018 and currently offers non-invasive cosmetic treatments at 14 locations in Ireland and the UK.
"Sisu Clinic's ambitions have always lay in the US and we're thrilled to open our first clinic in Miami, Florida this week," said Phelan. "We have incredible teams on both sides of the pond who have been laying the groundwork for months now, and we're delighted to finally see it all come to fruition.
"With more clinics to launch in New York, Florida and Texas in the coming months it's an incredibly exciting and busy time to be a part of Sisu's journey," Phelan added.
Brian Cotter, the company's global medical director, said the industry was "saturated" with rival companies but that Sisu had found success in treating its clients "like patients, rather than customers".
"Our primary goal is to ensure that the patient receives the most professional, safe, medical treatment on offer and feels good about the entire experience. We have seen the success of this approach across our Irish operations and we are really excited to bring this into the US," he added.
The Miami clinic at Merrick Park will offer botox and dermal fillers as well as permanent fat reduction and treatments exclusive to Sisu. The company joins Nordstrom, Gucci, J Crew, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus and other firms at the shopping mall.
Sisu has raised $11m to date, including a round of $5.5m to fund its US expansion.
Javelin rolled out an advertising campaign on behalf of the company last month.
