Dangan Group appoints Whelan as MD and announces 40 new jobs

Dangan Group has announced the appointment of Brian Whelan as managing director and plans to double its workforce with 40 new recruits over the next two-and-a-half years.

The Irish multi-service client solutions company operates a number of subsidiaries across recruitment (Dangan Group Recruitment), cleaning (Dangan Group Cleaning) and merchandising, in addition to Harper Finley Professional Recruitment and Merchandising Matters.

The company has offices in Dublin, Cork and a recently-opened location in Belfast, and its clients include RTÉ, Aldi, Panda, Musgrave and Fastway Couriers. With the 40 new full-time roles, Dangan anticipates it will add an additional 400 contract roles nationwide with its clients.

Whelan previously led the company's recruitment division, and he has also held management positions at REED Specialist Recruitment and the Irish Times. 

Commenting on his appointment, Whelan said: "I am pleased to be stepping into this role at a time when our portfolio of business units is increasing, with the recent addition of Harper Finley Professional Recruitment and Merchandising Matters, and our customer base is growing at pace.
