Cork-based cloud document bundling software provider Bundledocs has announced the launch of a new PDF editing product, Bundledocs Editor, developed in response to customer demand for a cost-effective PDF editing solution.

Users can manipulate, annotate, and share PDF documents and also use ocular character recognition to convert an image of text into machine-readable text, and Bundledocs Editor will be included as an add-on to the company's core e-bundling software, but it can also be purchased as a standalone product.

The tool is likely to be used by law firms presently using "ad hoc, one-off" desktop-based tools for PDF editing, with the cloud editor providing cost savings as well as centralised management and integration opportunities not available with standalone products, according to Bundledocs.

The company has become a market leader in electronic document production, working primarily with the legal sector, and is now expanding into North America having attracted over 1,000 clients in 34 countries.

Commenting on the announcement, James Hogan, CTO of Bundledocs, said: “After months of stringent testing, we are delighted to launch Bundledocs Editor.

Brian Kenneally, CEO of Bundledocs, added: “Over the past few years we have experienced immense growth throughout the UK and APAC markets.

"We have expanded our team and we have established ourselves in new territories, with our North American operations being the most recent.

"At Bundledocs we listen to our customers and are constantly evolving our products to be better and more efficient. This latest addition to our services will provide users with an easy-to-use, cost-effective solution to address their PDF editing needs.”

Peter Zver, Bundledocs VP of revenue and operations for North America, said: “Law firms are currently using too many ad hoc, one-off tools, most of which are desktop based, so going to a cloud editor provides cost saving, centralised management and integration opportunities not available with standalone products.

"As firms are migrating their Document Lifecycle applications, most notably their DMS, to the cloud, a PDF editor forms an important part of that journey.”

Bundledocs became the first electronic document bundling tool on the market to receive ISO 27001 compliance in late 2020, and the Ballincollig firm secured €600,000 in funding from Enterprise Ireland and investors the same year, as demand for its product increased 40%.

The company last year opened an office in Sydney, and its client base now features many of the UK's top 200 law firms as well as government departments in Ireland, the UK, US and Australia.
