South Dublin County Council is seeking a commercial partner for the naming rights of Tallaght Stadium.
The council and the stadium have appointed Core Sponsorship to handle the tender, with sponsors being promised “a multitude of commercial options”, such as branding opportunities, media exposure and venue rental opportunities.
The home of Shamrock Rovers, the Men’s Under 21s National Team and the Women’s National Team, the redevelopment also plans to include commercial spaces and the increase of the seating to over 10,000,- which can be supplemented by temporary on-field seating for live performances, potentially seeing attendances of 20,000.
Cllr. Emma Murphy, mayor of South Dublin County, said: “This is an exceptional opportunity for businesses looking to be an integral part of a thriving community and also be a significant supporter of sport in Ireland.
“With the wide range of events to be held at Tallaght Stadium in front of large international and domestic audiences, we’re really looking forward to welcoming a new partner on board to work with us to maximise the most of this new opportunity for all parties.”
Noel Martyn, intelligence director at Core Sponsorship, added: “Tallaght Stadium is one of the most interesting naming rights opportunities to enter the market in recent years. The naming rights opportunity offers a significant range of assets and benefits, including coverage of the named stadium on broadcast, print and digital channels, stadium signage, exposure on TV broadcasts, venue rental, ticketing etc."
The stadium redevelopment is one of several infrastructure projects earmarked for Tallaght by SDCC, with upwards of €80 million planned for works around the area — such as the Tallaght Innovation Centre, the Tallaght District Heating Centre and a public enhancement plan for Tallaght town centre.
The closing date for tender applications is October 13.
