TotalHealth Pharmacy has added a new pharmacy to its network, with independent pharmacist Andrew Buckley (pictured) rebranding his premises on Grange Road, Rathfarnham, under the totalhealth banner.
Buckley drummed up coverage of the rebranding by securing the presence of rugby player Rob Kearney at the launch event (pictured below).
The business was previously known as Bourke’s Pharmacy and was established over 50 years ago. Buckley and his wife Cora purchased the pharmacy in April 2014 from Nancy O'Donnell and Jacqueline O’Donnell.
According to Buckley (39): ‘We are very excited to be joining the TotalHealth Pharmacy team to offer a greater range of services, choice of products and also great value. We pride ourselves in our quality and friendly service and we try our best always to meet our customers’ needs.
Competitive
“In recent years, the pharmacy business has become much more competitive. It is no longer about dispensing medicines only. Pharmacists are required to provide a full community health solution working closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals in the community. With TotalHealth, we can now effectively compete in the market and deliver an excellent specialised community health service in the process.”
TotalHealth Pharmacy is a group of independent pharmacies who have come together under the symbol brand of ‘totalhealth’. The group consists of 60 independent pharmacies nationwide working together to give all the benefits of being part of a large retail brand.
Though a pharmacy business with deep roots in the community is obviously profitable, Buckley and his team work hard for the money. Buckley’s pharmacy provides free services to customers such as in-store consultations for blood pressure and diabetes, blister packing service, free delivery to local areas, medication reviews, advance prescription preparation and email/phone prescription orders.
Opening hours are 8.30am to 7.30 pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays 9am to 6pm and Sundays 12pm to 2pm.
