Bord Gáis Energy adds to executive management team

Bord Gáis Energy has added three new members to its executive management team with the appointments of Susan Whyte as director of customer operations, Steve Martin as technology director, and Angela Hoey as HR director.

Whyte will take responsibility for all operational delivery areas, including sales and customer service operations, billing, credit and contact centre management.

She will also lead the customer experience and operational excellence programmes at the company. Whyte has over 20 years' experience in the energy industry and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UCD.

Martin will lead the development and execution of Bord Gáis Energy's technology strategy as technology director. He joined the company in 2015 and has over 20 years' experience in IT and management consultancy as well as a BSc in software engineering from the University of Glasgow.

Bord Gáis has made three appointments to its executive leadership team.

Hoey joined Bord Gáis Energy from Centrica Group earlier this year and will guide the business in strategic people decisions in her new role. She holds a BA in business studies from Glasgow Caledonian University, and a postgraduate diploma in human resources management from the University of Strathclyde.

Bord Gáis Energy was one of several Irish energy providers to raise prices in October, increasing the cost of electricity by 39% and gas by 34% for some 500,000 customers. The company reported a 75% increase in operating profit for H1.
