Dr Loretta O'Sullivan has been named as chief economist at EY Ireland. The outgoing chief economist for the Bank of Ireland Group will take up the role with the Big Four firm in January.
As chief economist, O'Sullivan will oversee economic research and analysis for the company and its clients and be tasked with creating actionable insights from the latest macroeconomic data.
Prior to becoming chief economist at Bank of Ireland, O'Sullivan led the bank's Economic Research Unit and was responsible for economic analysis, commentary, forecasts and research.
During her career, O'Sullivan has held senior positions at the Department of Finance and the Central Bank of Ireland and was seconded to the European Commission's Economic and Financial Affairs Directorate for a time.
O'Sullivan holds a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, an MA in Policy, Management and Government from the University of York, and a BA (Mod) in Economics and Social Studies from TCD.
