Nolan Transport opens new logistics facility in Wexford

Nolan Transport has officially opened its €12m 150,000 cubic metre warehousing and logistics facility at Drinagh outside Wexford town on the Rosslare road.

The new facility is in addition to the company’s main hub in New Ross.

The company also has offices across the UK, France, and Spain, and this week also opens its new office in Holland.

Nolan Warehousing & Logistics will operate the new high bay warehouse facility, the first of five planned warehouses in the coming years.

The warehouse has a specialist wing for bioscience, clean room facilities and a containment wing.

The ground floor extends to 80,000 square feet with nine storeys of racking and 22,000 available pallet locations.

Nolan Transport was founded 60 years ago by the late Jimmy and Joan Nolan. The venture began with a single truck and now has over 2,000 trailers and 700 trucks.

Noel Nolan, managing director of the warehousing division, commented: “This first phase of our Wexford Global Logistics Park will create and sustain 30 quality jobs in phase one here in Wexford.

“We can offer a complete end-to-end logistics and warehousing solution to suit a range of occupiers from SMEs to large manufacturing and distribution companies, and we are delighted to have already exchanged contracts with a number of international brands.

The warehouse has a specialist wing for bioscience, clean room facilities and a containment wing.

“As the UK and European markets continue to adapt their supply chain and distribution models following Brexit, the market is experiencing record levels of demand and take-up,” Nolan added.

Nolan Transport has full AEO customs status which enables the company to work closely with international operators managing high-value goods, and offers a bonded warehousing service.

Nolan Transport largely operates through unlimited companies.
