Former Limerick senior hurler Joe Quaid has been appointed commercial manager at SME funding solutions provider Bibby Financial Services.
Quaid will oversee the provision of funding assistance to SMEs through a range of specialist and working capital funding options, and he will also act as a brand ambassador for the company.
He joins Bibby after almost 15 years as a collections account manager at Ulster Bank, and he recently undertook a Master's degree in Exercise, Performance and Sports Psychology from the University of Limerick.
Quaid has also spent a number of years managing hurling teams, winning multiple awards for his work.
Mark O’Rourke, managing director at Bibby Financial Services Ireland, said: “Joe is bringing much-valued experience in managing teams to success, both on and off the pitch, which he will put to excellent use at Bibby Financial Services Ireland.
"His wealth of expertise in the financial services sector and also in sport will be a significant asset to him in this role as he builds relationships with clients and works with SMEs in the current economic landscape.”
Bibby Financial Services is part of the wider Bibby group, which has provided funding solutions for more than 10,000 businesses. The Sandyford operation was established in 2006 and employs around 30 people.
