IG Group, a global leader in online trading, has officially opened new offices on Lr Pembroke Street in D2. Foreign minister Charlie Flanagan cut the ribbon and congratulated IG CEO Peter Hetherington on the company’s success in the Dublin market.
IG’s operation in Ireland commenced in 2013. The new offices include modern trading rooms and conference suites for customers.
Minister Flanagan commented “Growing our financial services sector in Ireland is a priority in the government’s annual Action Plan for Jobs. Last year we launched the government’s strategy for Ireland’s International Financial Services Sector – IFS2020. The IG Group is a globally successful company with offices in 17 countries and I am delighted that Ireland is among that elite group.”
Hetherington said the demand for online trading in Ireland continues to grow year on year. “We are the market leader in Ireland but will not rest on our laurels, as the opening of this new office shows,” he added. “We strive to offer the best in class client experience. This ranges from our award winning trading platform to the personal service we provide through activities, such as our popular client seminars and events all over Ireland.”
Hetherington said that IG is adding Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) for pensions planning to the stockbroking platform in 2016. “This year will also see the launch of an investment offering in partnership with BlackRock comprising of a selection of ETF-based investment portfolios. So you will now be able to fully control your trading and investing in one place with IG,” said Hetherington.

IG hosts over 60 education seminars for traders across Ireland each year. They cover a variety of topics and enable participants to engage with industry experts questions, and sharpen trading and investing skills.
