Alternative investment management firm Millennium Management has opened a new office at Central Quay in Grand Canal Dock and announced plans to recruit.
The company opened its first Dublin office at St Stephen's Green in 2018, and following the relocation, it will have space for over 100 employees, or more than double its current headcount.
Millennium is now hiring finance and technology talent with experience in cloud engineering, security engineering, infrastructure technology, corporate technology, vendor management & procurement, accounting services and fund accounting.
“We are excited to continue to build our capabilities in Dublin, which has become an increasingly important location for our firm’s global operations. In a time of disruption, we believe Millennium offers an ideal destination for talent in Ireland with an interest in finance and technology.," said Kevin Byrne, chief financial officer at Millennium.
Founded in 1989, Millennium seeks to pursue a diverse array of investment strategies across classes and geographies, and alternative investment managers such as the company represent one of the most fast moving and complex segments of investing.
Millennium also employs sophisticated technology to identify new opportunities in global markets.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney congratulated Millennium on the move and praised the company for its continued growth over the past five years.
"This presents a great opportunity for our talented workforce to join a thriving company at the intersection of finance and technology," he added.
Mary Buckley, interim CEO at IDA Ireland, said: “Ireland, given its vibrant international financial services environment and technology ecosystem, has proven to be an attractive location for multinational companies like Millennium at the intersection of technology and finance.
"Millennium’s move to new offices in Dublin signals the company’s ongoing commitment to its operations here. As an important part of the ecosystem in Ireland, I wish the Millennium team continued success.”
