Thérapie Clinic has opened a clinic in New York, on West 19th Street.
The Irish-owned beauty treatment business, run by Katie McGlade and CEO Philip McGlade, provides laser hair removal, cosmetic injections, and skin treatments. The company also has a skincare brand, Skin Theory.
Katie McGlade commented: “Expansion into the US has been in the pipeline for a number of years. We are so happy to be officially launching our 70th clinic and we are excited by the opportunity to enter and grow in the world’s largest aesthetic market.
“We believe that Thérapie offers US customers a distinctive offering. We believe our approach to laser hair removal will shake up the US market in terms of quality, experience, and price point."
Thérapie Clinic was established in Dublin 20 years ago and has 40 clinics in the UK. The company is also active in India.
Fellerim Ltd, the holding company for multiple companies in the Thérapie Clinic group, had turnover of €65.3m in 2021, an increase of €34.6m on the prior year as 23 new clinics were added to the chain.
Trading in 2021 was impacted by Covid lockdowns of the clinics in Ireland and the UK from January to April 2021.
Though Fellerim booked a loss of €6.9m, on a cashflow Ebitda basis the surplus for the year was €9.9m.
Net current liabilities in December 2021 totalled €29.2m, including €32.8m in deferred revenue, consisting mainly of pre-payments for treatments from customers.
Total creditors at period-end were €47m.
According to the company: “Thérapie Clinic believes that true beauty comes from within, a result of being healthy and confident; taking the time to nurture your body, your skin and yourself.
“Thérapie Clinic has several treatments to target conditions ranging from acne, rosacea to sun damage; collagen induction procedures to greatly improve skin; and anti-wrinkle treatments to diminish the appearance of ageing, including anti-wrinkle injections.”
