IrishJobs.ie has responded to the arrival of Glassdoor in the Irish market with a new online feature that lifts the veil on what employees think of their employers.

The jobs website says its new Company Reviews section allows employees, both past and present, to give an account of working at their organisation.

Current companies being rated on IrishJobs.ie include Kerry Group, Bank of Ireland, Allianz, SSE Airtricity, AIB, Jones Engineering, Guidewire Software and SAS Ireland. Most of them are rated four stars out of five.

Orla Moran, general manager of IrishJobs.ie, commented: “Not everyone wants a pool table or a bean bag. Savvy and connected Irish jobseekers can really get a sense of an organisation and make an informed decision. We want to give them the best possible resource that shows what an organisation is really like, avoid gossip and make an informed decision.”

“Of course, we have had employers who are anxious about the idea of being reviewed by their employees but, this is also a huge opportunity for them to showcase the best of their business. In less than six months, IrishJobs.ie Company Reviews will be the first place jobseekers will visit in their search for their next role, so using Companies Reviews well will help Irish companies attract the best talent.”

How it works

• Employees anonymously rate their organisations which is then moderated and edited by IrishJobs.ie.

• The company review is set up as a five star rating with one star being the lowest and five stars being the highest. Irish Jobs.ie says that final ratings are calculated using an algorithm “which is a blended mix of all the reviews from current and past employees of a company”.

• Employers are rated on office facilities, career progression, training and development, work life balance and, culture and people.

IrishJobs.ie, owned by Denis O'Brien's Saon Group, currently advertises over 10,000 job vacancies sourced from around 1,000 active clients. The site claims 1.4 million visits to the site by over 705,000 different jobseekers per month.
