Aspira Hiring And Acquiring

Irish IT firm Aspira is to create 50 jobs in Cork and Dublin, following strong growth in 2015.

The company, which booked a profit of €537,000 in 2014, said that turnover increased by two-thirds in 2015. Aspira also announced plans to acquire IT services and support firm B-TEC Solutions, a peer company in Cork, in a €1.5m deal.

The 50 new jobs will be based primarily at Aspira’s Cork headquarters, with some in the firm’s Dublin office, and will be rolled out over 18 months. The roles will include project management, business analysis and software development positions.

Aspira, which was previously called AspiraCon, was established in 2007 and currently employs 28 people. The company earned a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award for the past two years.

Aspira provides consultancy and IT services, specialising in enterprise IT services to the financial services, IT, medical devices and energy sectors.

CEO Pat Lucey said that the 50 new roles would strengthen Aspira’s delivery capacity and management at a time when the firm was planning to expand to international markets. Aspira is backed by Enterprise Ireland, which invested €200,000 in the company in 2009.
