Get That Mojo Working

If you’re a startup or a SME which has difficulty with full-spectrum marketing, you might find Clodagh O’Connell’s new venture has a solution.

O’Connell (pictured), a former head of retail with Nokia Ireland, had the idea of providing a virtual marketing department and launched Mojo Marketing back in 2014.

“There are so many SMEs which lack the marketing piece, either through lack of knowledge or lack of budget. Mojo offers a good answer on both issues, in that we effectively become your marketing department and you can roll us out as your marketing manager when you need to," she says.

“We offer flexibility. Some companies might require 40 hours a month, others just 20. Time can be ramped up if there is an event or conference a client needs us to work on, then once that is finished we will revert to normal hours. We are really happy to work with a client’s needs in any given month”, she says.

O’Connell identified her market on two grounds — one is that a marketing department can often be out of reach for a small firm or a startup on financial grounds, the other is simply not having the expertise. Mojo, she says, will “insource” marketing skills and expertise to such firms in several areas: brand strategy and development, traditional marketing, email marketing, social media strategy, and events.
