Who needs a blackboard when the classroom can have a VIVIDtouch screen, distributed in Ireland by Steljes? With three screen sizes on offer - 64-inch, 75-inch and 84-inch (diagonal) – these interactive panels run on the Windows 10 operating system and are designed to enhance collaboration and interactivity in the classroom.
The operating system enables users to access, manage and create content, use familiar software packages, surf the internet and browse apps available on the Windows store. Steljes says its new InGlass touch technology is better than rivals and gives users a tablet-like experience, while the passive pen provided allows writing on screen.
The Windows 10 device built into the front of display removes the requirement of having a separate PC permanently situated in the classroom, and the screens have wireless and Bluetooth connectivity.
The new VIVIDtouch screens made their debut at the Bett Show in London in January, and feature a built-in quad-core Intel Windows 10 device that delivers a superior performance than the processors incorporated into most Android touch screens, the company says.
InGlass Technology
The new panels offer enhanced touch, using a technology called InGlass. The company says the technology gives users a true tablet-like experience, replicating their responsive, smooth, intelligent and accurate performance on a large touch screen optimised for education.
Conor Grogan of Steljes Ireland said: “We have been working in the education market for almost three decades and have used our knowledge and expertise to deliver a solution that can really meet the specific needs of the sector.
“When it comes to new technology in the classroom, we understand how important it is to have a system that is cost-effective and offers ease of use. Our touch technology can precisely recognise the size of the object touching it, to easily identify the difference between a finger, pen, eraser or palm.
“The new panels are intuitive and more accurate than existing models. The Windows 10 device built into the class display removes the additional expense of a separate PC in each classroom.”
The 65-inch screen is priced at €3,500 plus VAT and the 4k 84-inch screen cost €6,999 plus VAT..
