Ethical gift brand Beefayre has spread its wings and arrived on the Irish market, both with local retailers and with its online shop. The firm promises "cruelty-free" products such as body and bath items, candles, room diffusers, health products and homeware.

The British company, founded by artist Sharon Jervis, said it aims to support conservation efforts “by bringing nature into the home and connecting people with the environment" through its products.

Beefayre is working with Irish retailers to secure further product listings in national retailers, garden centres and smaller independents across the country. Its products are also now available for Irish customers to purchase directly by selecting the euro payment option at checkout.

As the idea for the company was inspired by a visit by Jervis to study bee-keeping in Transylvania, the firm claims to be passionate about bees and gave its first range the name Bee Garden.

Jervis said: “Following the inaugural success of the Bee Garden range, we launched a second, premium collection called Waggledance, named after the jolly dance a honeybee does to show its friends where the best pollen is to be found.

“Beefayre has used pure essential oils in its Waggledance products and presents them in beautiful contemporary monochrome designs. All Beefayre products are certified as cruelty free, 3% of our profits go to conservation charities concerned with bee and bug conservation, and all packaging is made using recycled materials.”
