Nominations are now being taken for the 2016 eir Spider Awards, which are celebrating their 21-year incarnation.

The digital technology awards will span 19 categories this year, with the goal of highlighting the digital achievements of Ireland’s business community.

Three new categories have been added for 2016: ‘Best in Blogging’, ‘Best Campaign’ and ‘Best in User Experience’. The overall winner on the night will receive the Grand Prix.

As part of the awards programme, a number of free digital workshops will be held across the country. The events take place in September, providing practical advice and support to businesses looking to enhance their online presence.

The 2016 eir Spider awards will take place on Wednesday, November 30, in the DoubleTree at Hilton Hotel in Dublin. The entry fee has been reduced to €50.

Commenting on the awards, Lisa Kelly, chairperson of the judging panel and head of marketing at eir Business, said: “There is phenomenal creativity and innovation in the award entries each year and this makes it incredibly difficult for the judging panel to generate a shortlist.

“I really would encourage any business working in the digital space to apply. Not only are the awards a great way to showcase your work, but they also ensure that you get well-deserved recognition among the wider digital community.”
