European solar power developer Amarenco has appointed Declan Cullinane as CEO of its Irish arm.
Cullinane will be tasked with strengthening Amarenco Ireland's development in the photovoltaic, agri-PV, and energy storage sectors.
As chairman of the board of the Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA) since 2024, Cullinane has leveraged his experience in project management, strategic planning, and risk management to support Ireland’s energy transition.
Amarenco said his leadership would be a valuable asset as it expands its portfolio of solar and energy storage solutions in Ireland and internationally.
"Recently, I had the privilege of joining Amarenco, a pioneer in regenerative photovoltaic energy and the energy transition, to help steer its growth and development in a new era," said Cullinane.
"We are at a pivotal moment in the company’s journey, and I am excited to contribute to this next chapter of its history."
Founded in 2013, Amarenco now develops and operates large-scale solar photovoltaic and storage infrastructure, primarily in France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Austria.
The company has delivered over 2,000 projects and is committed to a "regenerative" economic model by implementing soil regeneration programmes on the lands where its photovoltaic plants are deployed.
These programmes aim to restore the soil’s capacity to absorb carbon emissions, promote biodiversity, and improve water retention.

The company has experienced remarkable growth, raising nearly €500m from prominent investors since 2020.
Amarenco invests over €500m annually and now employs more than 200 people worldwide. In 2024, Amarenco surpassed 600 MW of installed solar energy capacity.
