A new business conference organised by Bord Gáis Energy will aim to marry leadership insights from the sporting and corporate worlds. The conference, themed ‘Legendary Leadership Brings Success’, will take place in the Aviva Stadium on September 24.
Among the sporting stars lined up to participate in the conference are Ronan O’Gara, Irish boxing coach Billy Walsh and Dublin football manager Jim Gavin.
O’Gara, Walsh and Gavin will draw on their own experience in top-level, high-performance sport and discuss their personal leadership lessons. The trio will also share their advice and insights on how to attract, develop and manage top talent during an interactive panel session.
Other speakers lining out for the Bord Gáis Energy conference include motivational expert Enda McNulty; Dr Colm Foster, director of executive education at the Irish Management Institute; Michael Dawson, group CEO of One4All, and Sean Gallagher, entrepreneur and former dragon from TV show Dragons’ Den. Bord Gáis Energy chief operating officer Dave Kirwan will also speak at the conference.
In tandem with the conference launch, Bord Gáis Energy also launched a new online resource for Irish businesses called ‘Business Hub’. The hub provides business owners and managers with information, advice, expert insights and how-to guides on a range of topics including HR, sales, marketing and technology to help contribute to their business’ success.
According to Nicky Doran, acting head of retail with Bord Gáis Energy, the conference speakers will inspire, provoke and engage attendees.
He added: “We know that behind every great business is a strong leader, and successful leaders must be equipped with the knowledge and skills to drive business growth and ensure sustainability.
“A more driven, educated and skilled SME sector is essential to Ireland’s continued recovery.”
The conference begins on September 24 at 8.30am and will continue until 2pm. Tickets are priced at €149 per person and cover breakfast, mid-morning refreshments and lunch.
