Ten Irish businesses have received a share of €100,000 in funding through the second and final round of eircom Business Solutions’ Digital Boost Initiative, bringing to 27 the total number of companies supported through eircom’s programme this year.
In all, over €250,000 was distributed between the 27 firms in 2015 to support innovation and growth through investment in digital solutions.
Eircom’s Digital Boost seed fund targets four areas for support – business mobility, digital training, sales and marketing, and business productivity.
Among the second-round funding recipients is The Little Milk Company, a Waterford-based organic co-op. The business secured €10,600 in digital solutions from eircom, including tablets with 4G access for staff, a Google Exports Markets workshop and mobile app support.
The Little Milk Company is owned by ten organic family farmers and produces award-winning organic cheese. The company currently sells its products in retailers across Ireland and exports to seven markets around the world.
Speaking about the eircom Business Solutions Digital Boost funding, Conor Mulhall, CEO of The Little Milk Company, said that mobile and digital were essential in enhancing the company’s marketing reach.
“Currently, funding for the best and most efficient technologies has been an obstacle but this will help the business to compete better and make the best use of resources,” he added.
Gary Disley, small business director, eircom Business Solutions, said that the fund is a key pillar of the firm’s overall strategy to support the growth of Irish SMEs, and to help build digital expertise within organisations.
“The Little Milk Company has built a digital-based business from the outset and I really admire that Peter and his team have sought external expertise to add to the existing skillset that they have to move the business forward.”
Eircom Business Solutions partnered with Google, PayPal, Samsung, The Digital Marketing Institute, Isobar and Salesforce as part of the initiative to deliver a suite of digital funding to a total of 27 successful applicants.
