A new guide to the Companies Act 2014, The Companies Act 2014: Annotated and Consolidated 2018’ has been published by Reuters Roundhall.
The guide was written by barrister Brian Conroy with the support of an editorial board composed of partners from accountancy and business advisory firm Crowe. The annotated reference publication also includes the Companies (Accounting) Bill 2016 which covers financial reporting by companies.
The Companies Act 2014 is the longest Act in the history of the State and consolidates 13 Acts of the Oireachtas as well as numerous statutory instruments. The Act also introduced numerous significant reforms to existing company law. The book is aimed to serve all practitioners engaging with company law such as solicitors, accountants, company secretaries and directors.
The Companies Act 2014: Annotated and Consolidated’follows on from a previous reference publication overseen by Crowe published 30 years ago, ‘Combined Companies Acts’. The first edition was published by Crowe in 1989 under the firm’s former name, Bastow Charleton.
This edition includes important case law in conjunction with the legislation, and the publishers say the content is tailored to be as accessible as possible. As part of this latest edition, all chapters have been revised and rewritten to incorporate recent developments, and many have been expanded to cover areas not previously addressed in previous editions.
The Companies Act 2014, which runs to over 1,700 pages, costs €250 either directly through the publisher or at selected bookstores.
