British event booking platform Headbox has introduced its online marketplace for event venues into Ireland.
Headbox says that its mission is “to reinvent the global events industry through technology” with products for three main customers in the corporate events sector: the individual corporate booker, entire companies and organisations, and host venues.
The Ireland platform is populated with 800 venue spaces across the country, and includes ‘venue tours’, a 3D virtual tour of the venue advertised.
Chief executive Andrew Needham said: “Today is a huge milestone for HeadBox, as we launch in our first city outside the UK. Dublin is an extremely vibrant city with a fantastic array of unusual spaces for us to unlock and we’re looking forward to connecting those spaces with some of the large global brands we have started to work with in the capital.
“Dublin’s booming technology scene made it a no-brainer for our first international city, and we’re looking forward to growing our presence across Ireland and expanding into more European cities during the course of this year.”
As well as bringing the first transactional marketplace for meeting, off-site and event spaces to Ireland, the company has also launched HeadBox Business, its strategic meetings and events management software, to a variety of blue-chip companies in Dublin to help them centralise their meeting and event spend.
Croke Park marketing manager Julie Manahan commented: “We were very impressed with HeadBox 3D and how it will enable potential and existing clients to explore the variety of spaces we have available anywhere in the world. We’re also very excited to be one of the first venues in Ireland to purchase this product and we’re very much looking forward to seeing the benefits it brings.”
Since its foundation, Headbox has raised a £8.2m (€9.5m) in funding, including £3m from Guinness Asset Management and €1.2m from Egora, a German-American tech investment group.
