Healthcare company MSD is seeking about c.staff for four of its Irish sites before the end of the year.
The jobs on offer are in areas such as engineering, quality assurance, EHS and operations and will be available evenly at MSD’s manufacturing sites in Dublin, Carlow, Cork and Tipperary.
The Dublin site also houses MSD Biotech, a new biotechnology centre that is due to start production next year, and where the company’s 300th employee recently started. When it’s operational, the biotech facility will employ more than 350 and will have a central role in producing biologics-based medicines, including in the area of immuno-oncology.
In parallel, the development and completion of a new facility at MSD Carlow in 2022 will see a significant increase in the production of vaccines and biologics.
Managing director Ger Brennan said:“Throughout the Covid-19 crisis MSD — along with others in the pharmaceutical industry —was fully focused on ensuring our essential manufacturing operations continued, so that critical medicines and vaccines were manufactured for use at home and abroad.
“Our plans for our Irish business remain firmly on track. By the end of 2022 we will have significantly increased our manufacturing footprint, employee base and outputs, playing a role in enhancing Ireland’s position in pharma globally.”
The jobs on offer will be listed on MSD's careers site here.
