Leading health data company Datavant has appointed Ciaran O'Toole as vice president of engineering as well as technical lead at the firm's new global R&D hub in Galway.
Galway native O'Toole will lead the effort to build the Datavant engineering team in Ireland, draw up the company’s life sciences roadmap, and drive integration with the enterprise technology organisation.
Datavant's data platform facilitates the movement of 40m healthcare records between thousands of organisations.
O'Toole previously worked as VP of software engineering for Boston-based recruiter Globalization Partners, where he led the development of the company's engineering team and launched its Galway site.

“It is a great honour for me to be the first team member of Datavant in Ireland and I am looking forward to building a strong tech team here," said O'Toole.
Kyle Armbrester, CEO of Datavant, added: "We are excited to have Ciaran come on board as our first team member in Ireland and look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with him and the team in Ireland.”
