Ivan Ryan steps into newly created Chief Customer Officer role with Lidl

Lidl has announced the appointment of Ivan Ryan to the role of Chief Customer Officer for Lidl Ireland and Lidl Northern Ireland.

This newly established position on Lidl’s Board of Directors will see Ryan lead all customer-focused aspects of Lidl’s business.

Ryan moves into the new role having occupied the position of Regional Managing Director for Lidl Northern Ireland since August 2023.

Having joined Lidl in 2007, Ryan has previously worked across many areas of the business, both locally and internationally and has held senior positions within HR, operations, finance, and IT for Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Chief Customer Officer role will encompass multiple areas of the business focussing on customer touchpoints such as marketing, customer insights, loyalty programs and overall end-to-end customer experience. 

Ryan added: “I am looking forward to taking on the role of Chief Customer Officer and support our ambitious growth strategy that will create opportunities for us to engage our customers across a number of channels.

A Laois native, Ryan currently resides in Portlaoise and holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in accounting from the Technological University of the Shannon, as well as a diploma in Employment Law from Technological University Dublin.
