June Butler has been appointed as Bank of Ireland's head of corporate and SME banking.
Butler is currently chief executive of the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI), where she has helped to deliver new funding instruments for Irish SMEs.
She has previously worked for Bank of Ireland, serving as head of SME banking and sectors until 2021.
In her new role, Butler will lead a team of 200 people and assist some 3,000 companies across the island of Ireland.
She will oversee relationships with private businesses, multinationals, and publicly quoted companies, and lead the bank's foreign direct investment (FDI) team.
Bank of Ireland said she brings extensive experience in financial services, strategic leadership, and stakeholder engagement across both public and private sectors to the role.
“We are delighted to welcome June back to Bank of Ireland," said John Feeney, chief executive of Bank of Ireland's corporate and commercial banking division.
"Her deep expertise in SME and corporate banking, combined with a strong track record in strategic delivery and stakeholder engagement, will be invaluable as we continue to grow and support our corporate and business customers across all sectors.

"At a time when businesses are facing challenges on multiple fronts, from global market volatility to the accelerating pace of technological change and the growing imperative of sustainability, her leadership will be key to helping our customers navigate complexity, adapt with confidence, and seize new opportunities.”
