Dublin-based B2B supplier-sourcing software company Kwayga has appointed former Unilever executive Per Thau to its advisory board.

Thau is chair of Nordic sourcing group Coop Trading A/S, and has previously served as the firm's CCO and COO as well as CEO of Danish retail and foodservice company Dagrofa, and sales, category & marketing director for Unilever.

He currently holds five other board positions within retail and tech, and Kwayga cited his extensive experience and keen interest in technology and innovation as making him a valuable addition to the board.

Thau's addition to the board follows the appointment of Paul Hourican as chairman last year, and Kwayga expects the appointments to enhance its strategic leadership with a complementary blend of technology, retail, and supply chain expertise.

“Per brings exceptional experience in retail, FMCG, and supply chain transformation, making him a fantastic addition to our board," said Hourican.

"His insights will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and expand, ensuring Kwayga remains the go-to platform for supermarket buying teams and suppliers. I look forward to working closely with him as we drive the company forward.”

Mike McGrath, CEO and co-founder of Kwayga, added: “Kwayga is on a mission to revolutionise the way retail buyers operate day to day and how they connect with suppliers through technology.

“Following Paul’s appointment as chairman, together we sought a leader with deep experience in supermarket operations and supply chain strategy to complement our advisory board.

"Per brings precisely that expertise, and we’re excited to have him on board as we accelerate our growth.”

Commenting on his appointment, Thau said he was delighted to be joining Kwayga at such an exciting time for the company.

“Kwayga’s technology is transforming how supermarket buying teams operate, making supplier sourcing faster, more transparent, and more efficient," he continued.

"I look forward to leveraging my experience in retail and supply chain leadership to support the company’s ambitious vision and continued success.
