RED C announce new MD as Sinead Mooney prepares to retire

RED C Research, provider of research-based consultancy services, has announced the retirement of Co-Founder and Managing Director Sinead Mooney at the end of May this year.

Mooney co-founded RED C in 2003, contributing significantly to its growth into Ireland’s largest research-based consultancy over the past 22 years. 

Her tenure has been marked by a commitment to delivering high-quality insights and fostering strong client relationships.

The company describe her leadership as being instrumental in establishing RED C’s reputation for excellence in market research and public opinion polling. 

While she has retired as the Irish MD and a full-time role, Mooney will stay on in a consultancy role.

Reflecting on her time at RED C, Mooney said, “It has been a privilege to lead and grow RED C over the past 22 years. I am proud of what we have achieved and confident that the new leadership team will continue to drive the company forward with the same dedication to excellence.”

RED C has also announced the appointment of Ciara Reilly as the new Managing Director of RED C in Ireland from May onwards.

Reilly has been with the company for nearly two decades, and the RED C says this move represents a handing on of the leadership baton to the next generation, to take the business forward for the next stage of its life cycle. 

Reilly brings extensive experience in insight-based consultancy, and a deep understanding of the marketing levers to help brands grow.

Joining Reilly on the RED C Senior Management team in Ireland are Conor Murphy, Bryan Cox, Ciara Clarke and Shaun Fourie.

Speaking about her new role, Reilly said: “I am honoured to take on this role and build upon the strong foundation established by Sinead and Richard. Together with Conor, Bryan, Ciara Clarke, Shaun and the entire RED C team, we will continue to deliver insightful research and innovative solutions to our clients.”

Murphy, who has been a senior Director in the business for the past 10 years, and before that worked at senior management level for Millward Brown/ Kantar in Ireland, has been promoted to the role of Deputy Managing Director.

Cox, who has also worked in the business for 20 years, will continue his role in the senior management team and Clarke, another long-time employee in the business, has been promoted to the senior management team, reflecting her significant contributions to the running of the business and the company’s success. 

Fourie, with over 16 years experience in operational positions in the both agency and software companies in the market research industry in South Africa, has been appointed Head of Operations of RED C Ireland, following the departure of Michelle Lowry from the business.

The team in Ireland will also continue to work closely with the senior management of the RED C UK businesses, including Richard Barton and Charlotte Butterworth, Joint MDs of RED C UK, and Simon Thompson, MD of Relish Research.

Co-Founder Richard Colwell will continue as RED C Group CEO, overseeing operations across both the Irish and UK businesses.

Under his leadership, RED C has expanded its services and client base, solidifying its position as one of the leading market research groups globally.

He will also continue in his role as President of the WIN Network, a global network of leading independent research and insight agencies in 44 countries across the world.
