There is no doubt Ireland had a good year in terms of sports in 2022 and fans turned on the TV in their droves to watch the most popular sports events of 2022.
From boxing to rugby, we showed we can be number one in the ring and on the pitch, horse racing saw us dominate at Cheltenham once again, and Ireland reached their first Women's World Cup final in Australia during the year.
When it comes to the most popular events, team sport dominates the list, taking all 10 places, with the small matter of the FIFA World Cup, held in December for the first time, making a big impact on viewers.
RTE landed 8 of the ten top spots, with Virgin's coverage of the Six Nations ensuring they made the list with two events.
