In December, the REA Average House Price Index showed the selling price of three-bed semi detached houses in Ireland rose by 0.36% to €291,667. This represents an annual increase of 8%.
According to the REA, the county with the largest increase between September and December was Sligo, where house prices rose 6.8% to €195,000. This is followed by Galway County at 4.8%, where house prices now stand at €220,000, and Longford at 4.4%, where the average three-bedroom semi now costs €165,000.
