An Post has unveiled four new stamps celebrating the Irish breakfast in support of the tourism and hospitality sector as businesses prepare for the widespread return of international tourists following two summers of Covid-19 disruption.
Designed by illustrator Ailbhe Phelan, the stamps feature a range of Irish breakfast options, including a colourful fruit smoothie; a continental breakfast with Irish soda bread, jam and honey; a bowl of porridge with seasonal fruits, and a full Irish.
Aileen Mooney, of An Post Stamps, said the collection would be appreciated by stamp collectors and people involved in the food industry worldwide.
"With these stamps we also celebrate Ireland’s great reputation at home and abroad for offering delicious food and a warm welcome that puts a smile on everyone’s face," she added.
The stamp set, comprising of two national stamps (€1.25 each) for standard letters within the island of Ireland and two worldwide stamps (€2.20 each) for standard letters being sent globally, are available at main post offices and online, with free delivery.
It was reported in March that An Post would lease 77,300 sq ft across five floors of the EXO building in the Dublin docklands for new offices.
