HLB Ireland adds downtown office

Accountancy and advisory firm HLB Ireland has opened a second Dublin office, on Herbert Street in Dublin 2.

The firm is based at Carmanhall Road in Sandyford.

Managing partner Mark Butler said the city centre office provides the HLB team with more flexibility in terms of location.

“We offer a hybrid work model which works well given our technology investment,” he added. “We believe it is key to be engaged with our team and listen so we can do our best to provide any support necessary to ensure we are all at our best and enjoying what we do.

“We have also introduced several initiatives, including a gym membership, training programs and ongoing support for flexible working.”

Butler explained that digital transformation is a core philosophy for HLB and “powers a holistic process of continuous improvement that has accelerated the firm's agility. In turn, this has opened up new opportunities and strengthened our resilience.”

In Butler’s view, owner managers require a broad range of services that is beyond the core accounting and tax compliance services.

“Strategically they want advice on how best to build and protect their business in a range of areas, from early consideration of succession and exit strategies to outsourcing payroll, accounting, and management accounting,” he stated.

Butler said that HLB has introduced a cyber security offering in the past year, responding to concerns from clients about cyber threats and the fear of downtime and reputational damage a cyber incident could cause.

The firm’s recent appointments include Niamh Woodcock and Susan Rice, who have tax consulting experience and expertise relating to the Arts and Culture sector.
