Square opens Grafton Street pop-up store

Business point-of-sale company Square has opened a pop-up experiential store on Grafton St intil October 28. 

The Square Market, located at 47 Grafton St, features five Irish businesses using Square technology in the lead up to the Christmas trading season.

The businesses are: 

  • The Kind - A female-owned company, it features a range of products from different providers producing ethically produced goods.
  • Crayolina - An independently designed outlet featuring illustrations, storyboards and picture books for both adults and children. 
  • Crystals & Co - Established in 2009 by friends Emily Mackeogh and Leah O'Reilly, they produce unique and affordable jewellery for women.
  • Abode General Store - A curated menswear boutique set up by Jamie Mann in 2021, it showcases both Irish and international designers. 
  • Soap Obsessed - Based in Co. Wicklow, they create artisanal soaps, wax melts and candles. 

In addition to the merchants, customers can also test-drive Square technology, adding to the experiential aspect of the venue.

Square was set up in 2009 by Jack Dorsey, former CEO and co-founder of Twitter, and Jim McKelvey.

Under the wider company Block, Inc., they also hold payment app CashApp, buy-now-pay-later service AfterPay and music streaming service Tidal.
