Digital agency Granite Digital has won an award at Umbraco’s annual conference for its use of the CMS to develop the Farmers Market website.
Umbraco is the foundation for an estimated 730,000 active websites across the globe, making it one of the most popular web content management systems.
Granite partnered with Bump Digital to leverage Umbraco and develop Farmers Market, an online classified ads platform for the Irish Farmers Journal.
Integrated with 11 external services and customised features, the marketplace enables e-commerce capabilities and facilitates peer-to-peer payments.
Traders can advertise their products – such as livestock, machinery, careers – in 45 categories and with thousands of preconfigured categories to choose from.
Joe Lenehan, digital product manager at Irish Farmers Journal, said: “We’re no longer reliant on developers any time we want to make quick changes to the site or app. Our sales team can manage the platform’s content, customer accounts or subscriptions, and gain analytics insight directly through our Umbraco back-end system.”
Robert Carpenter, COO, Granite Digital, added: “Seeing how the IFJ’s platform enables farmers to trade with ease is something we take great pride in.
“This recognition celebrates our commitment in providing businesses with the best toolset for digital transformation.”
Granite Digital, founded in Cork in 2009, has been expanding through acquisition, and agreed a purchase agreement with Continuum in November 2022.
