Berlin’s eRockit brings new dimension to e-bikes

Berlin company eRockit AG has commenced a new funding round for its combo bicycle, e-bike and motorcycle design.

The company raised €830,000 from 200 investors this year and in seeking more capital to expand production.

The company says that the maximum eRockit speed is 100 km/h.

“With just a few steps on the pedals, you can feel incredible acceleration and experience eBikes in a whole new dimension,” says chairman Andreas Zurwehme. “An unprecedented combination of hardware and software, a powerful electric motor and a state-of-the-art battery, the eRockit is emission-free and environmentally friendly.

“It's the ideal commuter vehicle that gets you to work faster, cheaper and more relaxed. It's sporty and healthy, agile and safe. A ‘full tank or battery charge is enough for more than 130km and the electricity cost is less than three euros.”

The company says that when pedalling the muscle power used is increased by a factor of 50 and enables spectacular acceleration. In Germany, it is the only pedal vehicle permitted in motorways.

eRockit is based in Berlin and Zurwehme has been involved with electromobility for 12 years.

COO Markus Leder previously worked at Pininfarina Germany as head of development.

The venture was established at the end of 2021 and is aiming for an IPO in the future.

Zurwehme added: “The eRockit ‘Made in Germany’ is an exciting candidate to become a really big player. Investing in sustainability but also sensibly is an important criterion for many investors, in addition to high return opportunities. The time for an investment in eRockit could hardly be better.”

The company plans to start delivering the eRockit One to customers in spring 2023.
