The past year has been marked by a surge in demand for impactful, bespoke e-learning solutions, according to Gary O’Flynn, managing director of Esus E-learning.
The company, based in Douglas in Cork, celebrated its 20th anniversary last year.
“As we look forward to the next 20 years, we are excited to embrace emerging technologies and continue delivering varied and impactful projects that shape the future of learning,” he says.
“Our commitment to delivering memorable learning experiences is driven by a deep understanding of evolving learner needs and advancements in the technology landscape, the pace of which is remarkable.”
One of Ireland’s leading providers of bespoke e-learning solutions, Esus works with global brands, both in Ireland and internationally, and spanning a range of industries.
Using their source material, Esus re-purposes it for self-paced, online, asynchronous delivery.
“Before they engage with us, clients may have been delivering training on a face-to-face basis [and] may have simply provided their users with a printed document for them to read or uploaded a static PowerPoint deck to an internal intranet site for passive consumption,” O’Flynn explains.
“All of these options have limitations in terms of being a drain on internal resources, unproven effectiveness and impact, low levels of engagement and intangible return on investment.”
Esus provides an end-to-end solution to its clients.
Services include learning case analysis, instructional design/content authoring, graphical design, bespoke illustration and video production.
There is also 2D animation, 3D photorealistic modelling and animation, professional voiceover, project management and translation into up to 46 languages.
Depending on a client’s specific need, the final deliverable can be one or a blend of different learning solutions provided in a stand-alone or blended format.
These can take the form of e-learning courses, animated explainers, instructional videos, gamified learning, learning infographics, 2D animations, 3D photorealistic animations and virtual reality.
“Often what we end up doing is delivering a solution that’s a blended combination of these. A finished project will often include video, animation and gamification,” O’Flynn says.
“We always ensure a good e-learning experience because we script, design and develop everything in-house, so we can guarantee the finished product is a 100 per cent fit for the client.”
Esus works with clients at the outset of a project to identify the key success metrics and then build the most appropriate solution to affect the required behaviour change.

O’Flynn cites the example of three very different e-learning projects that the team in Esus carried out for one client, each with a unique metric of success.
“From creating 66 pieces of bespoke learning content to reaching 100,000 users with engaging learning materials and driving a massive €1.4 million cost savings for the client, these projects underline the transformative power of effective e-learning solutions.”
