SL Controls, an equipment systems engineering firm headquartered in Sligo, is adding 20 to its payroll. The firm currently employs 51 people.
The new positions will be created across SL Control’s five operating centres – its HQ in Sligo and offices in Galway, Limerick, Dublin and Birmingham.
Founded in Sligo in 2002 by Keith Moran and Shane Loughlin, SL Controls works with clients across the pharma, medical device, healthcare, food and beverage and technology sectors.
Moran (pictured), who is MD of SL Controls, said that the 20 new engineers will be in place by early 2017, thanks to a period of rapid expansion for the company, which is now moving into several European markets.
Moran added that the company’s turnover is on target to grow to €4.2m by the end of 2016, up from €3.1m in 2015. He said that the business booked a profit of €134,000 last year and had a year-end net worth of €360,000.
SL Controls created its own process for equipment system integration, called DiVOM, which it developed in conjunction with Dublin Institute of Technology. The company has also just launched a new engineering software range called TotalLine.
