Former FK Ireland recruiters Niall O’Kelly and Mark Baker have partnered with English investor Recruitment Entrepreneur to launch Darwin Hawkins in Dublin.
“Ireland is an emerging financial hub. Its global presence seems set to only increase in the wake of Brexit, making it an incredibly exciting place for startups such as Darwin Hawkins,” O’Kelly said.
Baker said his new firm’s backers have advised on leadership style and helped to design a strategy. “Recruitment Entrepreneur has a wealth of industry knowledge from operations, recruitment and finance perspectives - which have already provided us with infrastructure efficiencies in these early stages of our business set-up,” he said Baker.
Recruitment Entrepreneur CEO Abid Hamid said he expects O’Kelly and Baker’s understanding of the Irish market and their network of contacts will be assets at Darwin Hawkins. “We believe in the company, and in them as entrepreneurs. We’re excited about this new investment and we’re looking forward to working with them to achieve ambitious objectives,” said Hamid.
Founded by James Caan, Recruitment Entrepreneur said it is looking to back people “who want to build real capital value for themselves rather than run boutique, lifestyle businesses”.
Recruitment Entrepreneur invests in early and midsize recruitment companies. It assists growing companies by providing capital for growth, in addition to mentoring, legal, financial and infrastructure support.
