Hanley Energy announces new factory in Monaghan

Hanley Energy has announced 225 new jobs for a new manufacturing facility in Monaghan and expansion of its existing site in Dundalk.

Hanley Energy specialises in delivering power solutions for data centres and other large industrial projects.

The company said the new roles will include engineers across electrical, mechanical and controls disciplines, apprenticeships, general operatives and production staff.

Enterprise Ireland is providing taxpayer-funded state aid towards the employment expansion.

In 2020 and 2021, Hanley Energy Ltd paid €15m in dividends to its parent company Nordmore Holdings Ltd, which also accounts for Hanley group subsidiaries in the USA, Germany and South Africa.

Nordmore is owned by directors Clive Gilmore and Dennis Nordon, who shared with director Robert Barr €2.4m in remuneration and €1.2m in pension contributions in 2020.

Nordmore Holdings, which employs over 600 people, had turnover of €70.8m in 2020 and booked a net profit of €14.8m.

Hanley Energy is planning a 70,000 sq. ft facility in Monaghan Town “to meet the increasing demand for installation and service of its equipment which serves the growing critical power market and delivers on the high demand for power, connectivity and data”, according to the company.

Enterprise minister Leo Varadkar commented: “I love to see multinationals investing in Ireland and creating jobs for people. But there is nothing I like more than seeing Irish companies grow and become exporters and global players in their own right. We are here to help make that happen.
