The seasonally adjusted Live Register dipped by 0.1% to 165,500 people over the month to February new figures from the Central Statistics Office show.
The 0.1% figure accounted for a drop of 200 people.
The CSO said the unadjusted Live Register total stood at 165,307 people for February, with 55.5% of those men.
It noted that the 25-34 years age group made up the largest number of those on the Live Register last month at 23.3% of the total.
Kildare was the only county that recorded an increase in the number of people on the Live Register in the 12 months to February 2025, rising by 45 people (0.7%).
In February, there were 108,646 people on the Live Register for less than one year, which was 3,058 fewer people (-2.7%) than February 2024.
The Live Register is not designed to measure unemployment as it includes part-time workers as well as seasonal and casual workers who are entitled to Jobseeker's Benefit or Jobseeker's Allowance.
Earlier this week it emerged the Irish labour market is 'technically at full employment' after unemployment dropped to 3.9% in February.
The last time it was as low as 3.9% was between October 2000 and April 2001 at the start of the Celtic Tiger era.

The seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed was 111,500 in February 2025, compared with 115,700 in January 2025 the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show.
There was a fall of 5,600 in the seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed in February 2025 when compared with February 2024.
