Private intellectual disability care service providers Nua Healthcare is planning to expand its workforce by 800 over the next three years, with 300 new jobs coming on stream in 2016.
The employee expansion is to facilitate the development of new residential and day care facilities. Nua Healthcare is expected to officially announce its hiring plans at the official opening of the group’s newest facility, Glenview House, in Kilmallock, Co Limerick, today.
The new six-bed facility, which will be staffed by up to 30 social care professionals on rota, will provide 24-hour care to adults with special needs with complex support requirements.
Glenview House is the first of seven facilities that Nua Healthcare plans to open in the greater Munster region, taking it beyond its historical base in Leinster. In all, a further 20 residential centres and associated day facilities will be developed by Nua, increasing its residential care capacity up to 280 individuals by 2019.
The new roles will be created in communities across Ireland and will span disciplines such as social care, nursing and administrative support staff.
Edward Dunne, CEO of Nua Healthcare, said that his firm’s service model and approach experienced significant demand over the past number of years.
“Today’s announcement is a major step towards making our service more accessible to individuals nationally. The ability to do so is testament to the incredible work of our committed team and partners in such a specialist sector,” he continued.
Nua Healthcare currently employs over 800 social care professionals and provides 160 residential and respite beds in 28 locations nationally.
