Memory technology company Pure Storage has officially opened its EMEA support centre in Dublin, with an initial team of 18 staff scheduled to double by the end of this year.

The office is Pure Storage’s first major support centre outside the USA, and will provide technical support to EMEA customers, with 13 different languages among its staff base.

Pure Storage, founded by John 'Coz' Colgrove (pictured), is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and provides solid state memory storage for corporates, based on software-driven technology, which it says is simpler and faster than any existing technology used in data centres.

The company is already out to recruit more staff, and potential applicants can find details of what’s on offer at Pure Storage’s career portal.

Colin Mead of Pure Storage commented: “The opening of the support centre is an important step in our global expansion. It ensures that Pure will continue to provide the best support experience possible for our customers and partners in the region across multiple languages, and will complement the work of our international teams in building our presence in the area. We have hired ahead of the curve to ensure we can support the current anticipated sales growth and overflow from other regions.”

The investment by Pure is being part funded by Irish taxpayers through IDA Ireland. The agency's CEO Martin Shanahan said: “Pure Storage’s presence will strengthen the existing base of cloud and enterprise storage companies in Ireland and complements IDA’s strategy of winning big data investments. Technology companies like Pure Storage continue to find Ireland an ideal place to locate operations which can service the EMEA markets.”
