PwC has appointed Pat Moran as a Partner to lead its cybersecurity practice. PwC boss Feargal O’Rourke commented: “Cyber attacks are becoming more frequent, more costly and are a top threat to businesses today. Pat will lead PwC’s cybersecurity practice, a strategic and significant growth area for our firm and we are delighted to have him on board.”
Ciarán Kelly, Advisory Leader, PwC, added: “Companies need to ensure that their cyber protection levels are keeping up with these developments. Pat has over 25 years’ experience advising on technology and cyber risks, helping companies design the appropriate defence mechanisms, applying the required governance and helping them respond appropriately, when incidents do occur.”
According to Moran: “Cybercrime has rapidly become a top risk for boards, management and regulators, while consumers are also more aware of cyber risks and demanding greater protection of their personal information. With an increasingly complex security environment, cyber attacks are also becoming more difficult to detect.”
