Regatta recruiting for Cork warehouse as sales surge by 50%

Regatta Great Outdoors, the outdoor apparel, footwear and accessory retailer, plans to open a 170,000 sq. ft warehouse in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork this summer as the number of stores in Ireland heads to 34.

The company is hosting two recruitment events in Cork in April and May at the Carrigaline Court Hotel.

Regatta Great Outdoors was launched in Ireland in 2001 by managing director, Brian Fox, from his garden shed.

“This considerable investment in the Irish distribution centre for Regatta Group reinforces our commitment to building our brands in Ireland,” said Fox (pictured above).

“It will facilitate improved service and deliveries to our retail, wholesale and online customers and will help reduce our carbon footprint.

Regatta Great Outdoors was launched in Ireland in 2001 by managing director, Brian Fox, from his garden shed.

Regatta is a UK business owned by the Black family, who established it in Manchester in 1981.

Regatta Great Outdoors Ireland Ltd had a good pandemic, with turnover increasing by 50% to €26.9m in the year to January 2021.

The company’s gross margin is 65%, and it booked a net profit of €1.3m, up from €830,000 the year before. The surplus was after accounting for a €460,000 depreciation charge.

Average pay for 127 staff in 2020/21 was c.€19,000, according to filed accounts. The accounts do not disclose any pension payments to staff.
